You can control your dreams by learning and implementing what is call 'lucid dreaming'. Dream control is not only possible using this method, but it enables you to be completely aware of dreaming and in this state you can control the activities of your dreams, You can also control the outcome of your dreams.
What is the true meaning of the term lucid dreaming and in what way does it work? Are there any advantages, and is it truly a possibility for people to achieve control and make journeys nightly into the realm of dreaming their mini series of unique travels? This article will answer these questions that are very commonly asked on the subject of dream control.

Exactly What is Dream Control?
Dream control is something which is available to us through the use if lucid dreaming and grants us the ability to know, even while in the midst of a dream, to be aware that you are doing so ? this lets you start to take control over the direction of your dreams! Even while you are fast asleep, your mind can be in total control of what happens.
Those who suffer from nightmares, especially recurring ones can get relief from these bad dreams by using dream control. Once they have learned this simple but powerful skill, these people can finally get the good night?s rest they so badly need.
Common Ways of Inducing Lucid Dreaming
One of the most effective ways of inducing lucid dreaming is also one of the newest ? binaural audio. This is a technology which involves listening to two different frequencies at the same time. This listening produces deep relaxation and allows your brainwaves to synchronize, leading to the REM sleep state necessary for lucid dreaming to occur.
Self-hypnosis and meditation were the methods used to induce lucid dreaming before binaural audio recordings became available on DVD and CD formats. Self hypnosis and meditation both work to achieve lucid dreaming, but they can take a while to master, making them not necessarily the best choice if you?d like to start lucid dreaming sooner rather than later.
Many additional techniques, since then, have been developed as methods for inducing lucid dreaming by those experts in both fields of psychology and science. And regardless of any of the earlier methods used the basic purpose still remains the same. To train the mind while in the state of sleep to be aware of being in a dream. The state needed to begin lucid dreaming.
To obtain this, it is essential to begin while awake and the key is to remember to say something or do something while dreaming to trigger recognition that is necessary for the mind to be aware and allow us the ability to control the activities in our dreams.
You can tell yourself that you will do or say a certain thing in your dream to remind yourself and begin lucid dreaming as you start to fall asleep. Once you do or say this cue, you will come to the awareness that you are dreaming and begin to have a lucid dream.
This is considered as a mnemonic or mild process of bringing on lucid dreaming, and was founded by Dr. Stephen LaBerge (a scientist). Through this your mind becomes in total control of what is happening as you dream, this means you will be in no way harmed because it is only in your mind and of that you are in control of.
Lucid dreaming can also be achieved by keeping a journal or a diary. Keeping a notebook with a pen or pencil on your end table beside your bed and jotting down what you remember of your dreams in it. This is usually accomplished on first awakening and continued for several nights. After which you will begin to realize you remember what you've jotted down, in your notebook. You remember these notes and having similar dreams and now you begin to have control over your dreams.
With dream control you can go anywhere, do anything and see anyone that you can imagine. There are no limits to what you can do when you are lucid dreaming.
According to the experts, lucid dreaming has one possible drawback. As in real life, if you have too much of a good thing, this can produce an effect opposite of what you want. Mainly, is that dreaming in a natural state we are often made aware of things about ourselves that are important and things that would have stayed hidden. Lucid dreaming is an experience that is enjoyable and something you should experience, but not all the time. Take a break in between sessions.
